Did you know it was Bettie Page’s Birthday today? Yep, no kidding, the Queen turns 86 and is still as smokin hot as ever, with more and more people learning to love her daring charms every day.
Well it happens I just came across these guys on Twitter that are in the process of making an AUTHORIZED documentary of Bettie’s life and times. No hollywood glamour make-over movie here, but an honest look at her life and with the full support of Bettie herself.
From their website:
“Producer/Director, Mark Mori, began production on Bettie Page Reveals All (working title) in 1996, when he first met and became friends with Bettie. She agreed to cooperate exclusively with him in making this authorized documentary about her life. Mori has been conducting lengthy interviews with Bettie, and many others who knew her and were inspired by her. After years of research and filming, Bettie Page Reveals All (working title) is coming to the big screen in Fall, 2009.”
To celebrate her birthday these guys are holding a Pinup Contest and the 1st Prize is a signed copy of the forthcoming DVD. Signed by the director that is, not Bettie.

For those who haven’t heard the horrible news, Betty Page has died at age 85 in Los Angeles where she passed away after a heart attack last Thursday. Funeral services were held on Tuesday and she was laid to rest near Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn never had it so good!

I am sick and gutted at the same time. She was the inspiration for an entire ‘look’ that the girls of the kustom kulture world have adopted, transformed and made their own. The very fact that this site exists at all is because of her and her influence. Hell, half the women I’ve ever chased have looked like her, because of her!
We have lost the greatest pin-up icon of all time… and I’m lost for words.
